Tamsin Preston

I am pleased to be the new Headteacher at St Erme with Trispen Primary School. I am now in my 23rd year of teaching, having qualified as a teacher in 1996, at Exeter University. I began my teaching career at Trenance Infants School, then moved to Nanpean CP School. I then worked as a Primary National Literacy Consultant supporting teachers and schools across the County and also lectured for the learning Institute. I then moved to St lssey C of E Primary before taking up a senior leadership position at Wadebridge Primary. I am also a County moderator for Early Years.
My key values are honesty, loyalty, trustworthy effort, collaboration, give it a go attitude, positivity, and clarity.
My education philosophy is excellent teaching, high expectations – (there is no excuse for underachievement), exemplary behaviour, know every child, depth before breadth, time for learning – every minute matters – no wasted learning time.
I am married to Mark and have 3 children, Harrison, Kyla and Rhia. I enjoy reading, walking, tap dancing, holidays abroad, watching action films and baking. I’m learning to like camping and have a brown belt in karate! I love frogs! I get annoyed by bad drivers and poor manners! One day I will walk the Great Wall of China! My secret passion is Bon Jovi and Dirty Dancing!

We have lived in Cornwall for ten years but moved to St Erme only eight months ago.
Semi-retired, we enjoy the countryside & coastal walks, & have a mutual interest in the Cornish flora, fauna & environment. We also enjoy the Cinema & occasional dining out.
We have found the Community Centre to be very welcoming & is a good place to meet & make new friends.
Maybe see you there, or around our lovely peaceful village!
